The project is focused on reducing the risk from falling trees and branches caused by strong winds. Every tree has been marked with a number and its vitality has been evaluated and instructions have been given for further maintenance. Some branches or trees had to be cut down. Camp Čikat has launched this project to ensure continuous improvement of camping safety for guests, their property and the campsite’s infrastructure.
In order to reduce treefall gaps caused by branches and infested pine trees being cut down, Camp Čikat will plant young stone pine trees. Several times a year stone pines will be planted by campsite staff and guests. Two tree planting sessions were organised in 2018.
Guests may also participate by ‘adopting’ a tree and donating funds for new stone pines to be planted. The ‘adoption package’ includes a nametag, tree adoption certificate, project datasheet, a photograph of the tree and a souvenir.
With this project Jadranka kampovi (a member of Jadranka d.d.) and Camp Čikat invest in improving camping conditions for its guests by ensuring maximum safety and protecting the environment and Čikat Forest Park. With the ‘Camping Safety in the Camp Čikat Area’ project Jadranka kampovi d.o.o. follows the requirements of ISO 14001 – Environmental Management System, the standard it adopted in 2008 as a member of Jadranka d.d.
